Best/Worst Matchups - 2025 Week 15

Welcome to the fantasy football playoffs!

If you didn't make the playoffs, you are most likely trying not to lose out to be the King of the Toilet Bowl. Most of you, however, have made it to the final three weeks of the season and need every bit of help to continue to the next round.

Let's get to my favorite matchups to take advantage of this week!

QUARTERBACKS

START JJ McCarthy vs Dallas Cowboys

I might get lit up for this, but if you look back at last week, McCarthy finished as a Top 10 QB. Go ahead, check. Yes, it was against the lowly Commanders who they shut out, but McCarthy managed to throw 3 touchdowns in that game. He may not be throwing for yardage but that doesn't matter as long as he's scoring you points. Like last week, McCarthy gets an extremely juicy matchup against the Dallas Cowboys who surrender the MOST points to opposing QBs. If you are having QB issues going into the playoffs, McCarthy may just be the dart throw you need to move on. Also, take a look at his next two games following this: NYG and DET. Two more delicious matchups. Don't be surprised if McCarthy has a nice string of games to finish the season.

Honorable Mention: Marcus Mariota vs NYG, Brock Purdy vs TEN

SIT Jared Goff vs Los Angeles Rams

The Jahmyr Gibbs thing is real. He's destined to take over this game like he has the past few games. This will let Jared Goff only need to make a few throws and not become susceptible to the Rams' pass defense. The Rams have allowed the 2nd least number of points to opposing QBs this season. This is a good week to leave Goff on the bench.

Honorable Mention: Dak Prescott vs MIN, Bo Nix vs GB

RUNNING BACKS

START Woody Marks vs Arizona Cardinals

There aren't a ton of mid-level plays this week that are notable. Marks is one who's shown plenty of flashes over the past few weeks but a few duds in there. The thing here is that he gets a majority of the touches in this backfield. The Texans are likely to be leading this game from the gun and Marks will get to run all day against the Cardinals who have given up the 4th most points to opposing RBs this season. Marks is not to be ignored this week.

Honorable Mention: Tyrone Tracy vs WAS, Aaron Jones vs DAL

SIT Breece Hall vs Jacksonville Jaguars

This season has turned into a disaster and with more teams being eliminated from playoff contention, more teams are packing it in. The Jets may be one of them, especially Breece Hall. He's been seeing a majority of the touches this season and has played in every single game this year, but lately he's been very inefficient. Over the past 5 games, only one game has he averaged over 4 yards per carry. That may not matter too much in fantasy, but it will matter in a game where they're likely to trail. The Jets are likely to be trailing against the playoff-hopeful Jaguars like they have been the past few weeks. In those past few weeks, Hall hasn't gotten much receiving work at all. He's coming off of a dud last week against Miami who normally lets you run on them. The trend for Hall continues to dip lower with the Jaguars next and have allowed the 5th least points to opposing RBs this season.

Honorable Mention: Kyren Williams vs DET, Tony Pollard vs SF

WIDE RECEIVERS

START Deebo Samuel vs New York Giants

Honorable Mention: With Jayden Daniels out once more, Samuel gets to work with Marcus Mariota where they had decent success together. He had been finding the end zone frequently as a 3-game TD streak was just recently snapped. He's still a WR2 on the year despite his up-and-down struggles. He draws the Giants defense this week in a game that only matters to the 2026 draft order. Deebo has a chance to be the best player on the field by running through their defense that has allowed the 4th most points to opposing WRs this season.

SIT Michael Wilson vs Houston Texans

Marvin Harrison Jr will not be playing this week which means the All-Pro defensive back Derek Stingley Jr will be all over Wilson this week. I don't see this development being favorable to Wilson despite being the WR1 in the offense at the moment. The Texans have allowed the 3rd least points to opposing WRs this season and I can definitely see this game being close to a shutout in favor of Houston this week. The Cardinals no longer have anything to play for this year, and the Texans are a brick wall that are gunning for their division.

Honorable Mention: Jameson Williams vs LAR, Rome Odunze vs CLE

TIGHT ENDS

START Mark Andrews vs Cincinnati Bengals

Stating the obvious: play your TE's vs Cincinnati. They allow 7 more points ON AVERAGE to opposing tight ends than the 2nd highest team. You have a pretty favorable bet to play Andrews this week even after a big dud last week.

Honorable Mention: Juwan Johnson vs CAR, Dalton Schultz vs ARI

SIT Hunter Henry vs Buffalo Bills

Lots of high-profile tight ends with really tough matchups (see honorable mentions). I defintely would leave Henry out of your lineup this week against Buffalo who allows less than 6 PPR points a game to opposing TE's and is the least in the league.

Honorable Mention: Brock Bowers vs PHI, Trey McBride vs HOU
