Best/Worst Matchups - 2025 Week 13

Happy Thanksgiving, 'Holics!

I hope that for this week that your turkey will be as juicy as the matchups I'm about to provide for you. I hope your holiday is stuffed with football, food, family and success in fantasy football.

Let's get to it!

QUARTERBACKS

START Jacoby Brissett vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers

This was my start last week as well and I don't want you to forget how great he's doing for the fantasy world. He may not be lighting it up for the Cardinals or bringing them back from the dead to the playoffs but he's providing consistently good numbers for fantasy GMs. Another Top 10 QB performance last week. Count on it again as they play the Buc who have surrendered the 6th most points to opposing QBs.

Honorable Mention: Jordan Love vs DET, Trevor Lawrence vs TEN

SIT Justin Herbert vs Las Vegas Raiders

Still having nightmares about the Chargers game before their bye when they got absolutely annihilated by the Jags. It turns out that losing both your Pro Bowl level tackles really puts a damper on your offense. The Raiders front seven that includes Maxx Crosby will have a field day against the Chargers banged-up O-line. The Raiders have also allowed only the 26th most points to opposing QBs so Herbert is not an ideal candidate for a bounce-back performance.

Honorable Mention: Jared Goff vs GB, Daniel Jones vs HOU

RUNNING BACKS

START Kenneth Gainwell vs Buffalo Bills

Looks like everybody is figuring out how to beat the Bills this year: just run the ball. Crazy concept! That's why Gainwell ought to have a great game this week as he's been the standout back over Jaylen Warren the past two weeks. He will find plenty of room to run against the Bill who have given up the 3rd most points to opposing RBs this season. That's up there with the Giants and Bengals... not great company. Fire up Gainwell in your FLEX!

Honorable Mention: Devin Neal vs MIA, Rachaad White vs ARI

SIT Tyrone Tracy Jr vs New England Patriots

Simply, nobody can run on the Patriots this season. Although Tracy will see every starting rep at the RB position ahead of Devin Singletary, he won't find great opportunities to get anywhere. The Giants expect to be playing from behind, as well. This is not a great week for Tracy.

Honorable Mention: Kimani Vidal vs LV, David Montgomery vs GB

WIDE RECEIVERS

START Tre Tucker vs Los Angeles Chargers

Tucker looks like the #1 receiver in the Raiders' offense at the moment. Over the last two weeks, he's received 18 targets from Geno Smith. The only one who comes close is RB Ashton Jeanty. Tucker clearly presents as a weapon and will continue to receive looks. He can be put in your FLEX spot this week against the Chargers who have allowed the 6th most points to opposing WRs this season.

Honorable Mention:

SIT Jameson Williams vs Green Bay Packers

Here I was thinking he would be a lot more reliable this season as a fantasy asset. He's extremely volatile this season! He is not to be trusted even in the simplest matchups like he had last week against the Giants. I certainly won't trust him unless you have dire circumstances when the Lions play the Packers on Thanksgiving. The Packers have given up the 8th least points to opposing WRs this season and look to keep Williams under wrap.

Honorable Mention: Jauan Jennings vs CLE, Josh Downs vs HOU

TIGHT ENDS

START Harold Fannin Jr vs San Francisco 49ers

In Shedeur Sanders' first start, Fannin was the target he looked to most. Fannin received 6 looks last week which is double the number of the next pass-catcher. More importantly, David Njoku didn't receive ANY looks last game after playing half the offensive snaps. Fannin is looking more like the future at TE for the Browns and will be a great weapon for Sanders against the Niners this week. San Francisco has given up the 4th most points to opposing TE's this season and Fannin should have a nice game.

Honorable Mention: Chig Okonkwo vs JAX, Dalton Schultz vs IND

SIT Colston Loveland vs Philadelphia Eagles

Loveland has started to break out as of late, but I believe this is a minor stop in his production. The Eagles are the Bears next opponent, and they have allowed the 2nd least number of points to opposing TEs this season. This is not ideal for the rookie who is just getting his feet under him. The Eagles are as good as any defense at this point in the season and you should find a different option at TE this week.

Honorable Mention: Brenton Strange vs TEN, Mason Taylor vs ATL
