2024 Outlook
Overview
Saints Fans will be looking at a roster that is very similar to last years team. The team didnt have much salary cap wiggle room heading into the off-season but were able to bring back most of their important pieces.
Passing
This team will go as far as Derek Carr will take them. Carr has been a fairly average Qb his entire career. If he stumbles the Saints could look to exciting rookie signal caller Spencer Rattler.
Rushing
The Backfield will have the same faces as last season with Alvin Kamara, Jamaal Williams, And Kendre Miller all returning. The big change will be Rick Dennison who was named Running game Coordinator in february. Kamara still looks to be the touch leader in this back field with Miller looking to climb into a bigger role this year.
Receiving
Chris Olave is the leader of the pack in this receiving core, and looks poised to continue his ascension into the top wideouts in the nfl. The biggest change is Michael thomas no longer being on the team, leaving the door open for someone to step up and be the guy opposite of Olave. Most expect Rashid Shaheed to be the number two option while guys like A.T. Perry and rookie Bub Means look to carve out a role.
Defense
The Defense looks to be the better side of the ball here in New Orleans again this season. The Saints resigned Saftey Tyrann Mathieu and added Chase Young to the defensive line already anchored by Cam Jordan. Rookie Cb Kool-Aid McKinstry looks ready to come in and put the clamps on opposing wideouts on day one.
Fantasy Impact
I expect very similar fantasy relevancy from the Saints that we saw in 2023. There wont be any league winners coming from this team this season, but they have some players that will be very good in Kamara and Chris Olave. Rashid Shaheed may be a fantasy main stay by seasons end as well.
